The late great global food connoisseur Anthony Bourdain once said;

“The more street food we have, the more it’s embraced by every income strata, the better world we have”

Well, in our Valle de Guadalupe, we have excellent street food.  And one of these places is called MegaBurros El Gringo.  It’s a must hangout for the street food lover.

In fact, if you’re looking for a fat delicious burrito (Burro) in the Valle de Guadalupe just go over and visit Alex Toscano and his wife Dalila Garibaldo at MegaBurros El Gringo.  This family street stand is right on the main highway about 1 mile past the main light in San Antonio de las Minas (assuming you arrive in our Valle from the Ensenada area).

Warning!  The Burros are big!  So be hungry!

Alex and Dalila’s families have been in the Valle de Guadalupe a long time.  In fact, Alex’s family owns one of the older wineries in our area LA CASA VIEJA where the original house from 1800’s still stands.

They started their burrito business about 2 years ago. At first, they located their stand at the main stoplight in town.  Recently, about 6 months ago, they moved to expand their success to a bigger space on the main highway between the Tire Shop and yard where they sell decorative rocks which is right next to the main lumberyard on the highway (Hirata’s).  It is basically almost across the street from Alex’s family winery La Casa Vieja.

At this new location, they have a much bigger nicer place to sit, eat and enjoy the delights of the MegaBurros and more.  And now they serve Pozole; Pozole, a traditional soup or stew from Mexican cuisine. It is made from hominy with meat, and can be seasoned and garnished with shredded lettuce or cabbage, chile peppers, onion, garlic, radishes, avocado, salsa or limes.

Oh and as soon as the season returns, Alex plans on doing smoked ribs on the weekends.

So go and see them.  Stop in for a chat.  Or just order by phone or message and get it delivered to wherever you are in the Valle. (see below).  Alex and Dalila speak both Spanish and English. So just tell them Bodega Del Valle sent you… enjoy!
